Conversations with Baldwin: Young Voices with Deanna Rodger
Bring your kids along to ‘Conversations with Baldwin: Young Voices with Deanna Rodger’, a writing workshop for children of the Global Majority aged 6 – 11 years at Easton Community Centre.
This workshop is part of the wider Conversations with Baldwin festival taking place across the UK which celebrates the 100th birthday of iconic writer and activist James Baldwin (1924 – 1987). As the author of such works as Go Tell It On The Mountain, Notes of a Native Son, and The Fire Next Time, James Baldwin had a prophetic calling to bear witness to the issues facing the world. This workshop draws on the theme of ‘the Artist as Witness’ in an hour-long session led by Deanna Rodger that encourages young ones to interpret the world around them and use their voice.
