Join DJ Chillz in conversation with Words of Colour’s executive director Joy Francis about music, spirituality and giving back during Covid-19 on Instagram Live from 6pm-7pm on Monday 20th July 2020.
Music reflects the rhythm of life. It inspires creativity, mirrors emotions precisely and stimulates nostalgia, hope, rebirth and redemption.
At a time when we are living through a global pandemic, music is now more critical than ever before, keeping black and other people of colour connected to their soul, spirit, ancestors and kindred folk at a challenging time. What role is music playing in your life at this time? What is the playlist that gets you through the day, week, month? Do you meditate to music? Clean your home to music? Eat to music? Keep fit to music? Has your music taste changed since being in lockdown? Do you harbour aspirations to DJ or make music?
Words of Colour’s Executive Director Joy Francis will be In Conversation with acclaimed DJ, producer and composer DJ Chillz about transitioning from DJing to producing to now composing music, why spirituality underpins what she does and the importance, to her, of giving back, especially during Covid-19.
