Finding the Spotlight: Supporting the next generation of black female leaders was hosted by Words of Colour Productions on Thursday 18 October 2012 at Dalston C.L. R. James Library for Hackney Black History Month. Chaired by Words of Colour Production’s executive director Joy Francis, the panel consisted of Jackee Holder, acclaimed author, coach and interfaith minister, Kate Osamor, candidate for the Labour Party National Executive Committee, Verna Wilkins, prolific children’s author and founder of Tamarind books, now a Random House imprint, and Loraine Martins MBE, former head of equality, inclusion, employment, and skills at the Olympic Delivery Authority and now the first director of diversity and inclusion at Network Rail.
