In conversation with Yassmin Abdel-Magied (Bristol)

Hosted at Waterstones Bristol Galleries on Thursday 28 March 2019, Yassmin Abdel-Magied read from her first novel ‘You Must Be Layla’ and shared her literary journey from being born in Sudan, moving with her parents to Brisbane, Australia at two, becoming the first Muslim woman oil rig mechanical engineer and being a TED Talk sensation to coming to England and finding her voice -and a new tribe.
