Making your Mark: Getting a Career in the Creative Arts & Media

Around 70 young people attended our Making your Mark: Getting a career in the creative arts & media event at Tricycle Cinema @ Tricycle Theatre on Thursday 31 October 2013. An impressive line up of young and talented guest speakers included filmmaker Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan (RUN/Channel 4), Adelayo Adedayo (Viva, BBC3’s Some Girls), videographer Adrianne McKenzie ((2012 Paralympics), film and music director Labi Odebunmi (winner of the Stanley Kubrick Award 2012), Film director and scriptwriter Destiny Ekaragha (Gone Too Far), DJ Lady TT (Hip Hop Nation Best Female DJ 2013 nominee), Ad creative Akwasi Poku (Nike, Weetabix) and social entrepreneur Ashley Wyllie (Future of Croydon). We’d like to thank Lauren Bennett from Random House children’s division, Sarah Kavanagh from the National Union of Journalists, VInspired, Tesco and Iceland Kilburn, Hat Trick Productions and Channel 4 for their support in kind and donations.
